FC Platinum have refuted claims by the media of a fall out between the executive and head coach Norman Mapeza before the Triangle match on Saturday saying their intention remains one of retaining the league.
According to the FC Platinum Chairman Evans Mtombeni, they still have confidence in Norman Mapeza and they have no plans to engage any other coach.
” As FC Platinum, our intention remains one of retaining the league and we still have confidence in our coach Norman Mapeza who remains our head coach and as far as we are concerned, there are no discussions held with any other coach to discuss replacing him.
“FC Platinum would like to vehemently refute media reports alleging that there was an industrial action at the club last week,” he said.
He added that a meeting involving the technical team from FC Platinum and the Executive including club President had been held to discuss a number of issues of interest to the club.
“True facts of the matter are that indeed there was a meeting involving a technical team from FC Platinum and the Executive including the club president George Mawere.
“This was the first meeting of such kind after the team’s CAF campaign and immediately after the start of the new premier League season. The meeting was held to discuss a number of pertinent issues to deal with both internal issues and the domestic season.
“The media report in question relies on unnamed sources. For the record, FC Platinum has a Public Relations liaison person and we encourage the media fraternity to get in touch with us and we will be most glad to respond to any queries raised,” added Mtombeni.
