All Set For Midlands Independence Celebrations.

The Minister of State for Midlands Province Senator Larry Mavhima has urged Zimbabweans to cherish independence and work towards growth and development.

Speaking to Great Dyke News 24 ahead of the independence celebrations set for the 18th April, Senator Mavhima said young people should attend to learn about the significance of independence day as they are the future of the country.

“Independence day is a day we all cherish, as a province, we have started plans to celebrate and commemorate that particular day.

“Its a day that will never change and its a day that Zimbabwe got free .All these young people who were not born by then should come so that they understand what independence is .

“It’s free and that’s when we will be able to determine what we need to do as a nation and determine the future of our children,” he said.

Each year, Zimbabweans commemorate the attainment of their independence from Britain on the 18th of April. Celebrations are held nationwide as citizens remember this historic event that took place in 1980.
